Some things you should know ab out club|debil…
club|debil is not a club as a commercial venue, it’s an organisation.
We are not into Rock’n’Roll business, what we do is our hobby. So don’t expect a professsional gig but people who care about your music and art, but who have limited means only. Don’t expect, that we have to fill a program or whatever, we do no regular shows. We try to setup a concert once a month, that’s all.
Place / Capacity / Expectations
The physical venue, we do most of our concerts and parties is Alte Feuerwache Loschwitz, a small cultural center in the East of Dresden, East of Germany. We are not situated in Leipzig! This is more than 100 km Northwest of us.
The place is small with a capacity of 50 people maximum. That means:
- We cannot pay lots of money.
- There is no space for an orchestra or even a full band.
- We don’t have a back line, only a good PA and the possibility for a solid projection.
Politics
- We are into experimental electronic music like Noise, Industrial and so on.If you want to get a glimpse, of what we stand or, look at our concert archives.
- We do not care about other genres as an organisation, what does not mean we as “music consumers” are limited to one genre only. But sometimes there are other places in Dresden, who fit better. If you need a hint, ask for.
- We don’t like to support organisations like GEMA, who in our opinion are vultures for that kind of projects we are. We try to avoid extra costs and bureaucracy, sucking the fun out of what we do.
- We don’t like to work with agencies. We prefer to be in direct contact with the musicians / artists.
- A word about politics in general: We believe in freedom of expression. Do whatever you like. We are tolerant. But of course our tolerance ends, where Fascism and other stupid ideologies start. Industrial is shock, Industrial is ambiguity but never propaganda.
What you can expect:
- A nice, cozy place to play.
- People, interested in listening to your music.
- Some fee to cover your costs.
- A warm meal before / after the show
- An acceptable accomodation
- And that we’re true to our words.
